April: lights, camera, action it’s English Tourism week in Bradford

April begins with English Tourism Week, so why not be a tourist in your own city? Take a look at Visit Bradford’s website for a reminder of all that Bradford has to offer from the City of Film, its many museums and galleries, glorious countryside, country pubs and curries. Below is my own take on the best of what’s on this month in Bradford:

  • Q&A with Bradford born actor and director Enzo Cilenti of Game of Thrones and Luther fame as part of Bradford City of Film’s 10th year anniversary programme. Thursday 4 April at 6pm.
  • Putting the hip into Shipley, don’t miss Bradfordian artist Pilfered’s exhibition at Tambourine Coffee, 38 Bradford Road, Saltaire throughout April.
  • Regular storytelling night with Tenx9 Bradford on the theme of “fool”. Nine people tell a real story from their lives for ten minutes. Contact the organisers to take part or just go along for a listen. 5 April from 7pm at Speakers Corner, 4 Ivegate.
  • This is not just a play, this is an M&S play. Dressed in Time tells the story of Marks & Spencers, fashion and shopping featuring original clothing from the 1930s-70s. 6 April, The Studio at 2pm.
  • Haworth Artisan Food and Drink Market with local food producers on Saturday 6 April 11am-4pm.
